17cҳ graduates Basic Law Enforcement Academy #92

17cҳ (17cҳ) held a graduation ceremony for Basic Law Enforcement Academy #92 on April 30 at the Key West Campus. Nine cadets successfully completed the 770-hour training program and, upon passing the State Officer Certification Exam, each will be eligible to become a Florida Law Enforcement Officer.

17cҳ (17cҳ) invites prospective students to learn about its Apprenticeships in Construction Technologies at a virtual information event on Wednesday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m. 17cҳ is offering the electrical program in Key West and the Upper Keys this upcoming fall semester, which begins August 19. The deadline to apply is July 1.

17cҳ will conclude its 2025 VIP Series with “Invasive Species in the Florida Keys” on Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. in the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the Key West Campus. Dr. Douglas Mader, a local veterinarian and author, will explore changes in the Florida Keys’ fauna and flora over recent decades, focusing on the impact of invasive species.

17cҳ Academy senior honored with first President’s Award

17cҳ Academy student Lela Griffin was awarded the first President’s Award, which recognizes a member of the senior class for exemplary service to the community. Dr. Brittany Snyder, Executive Vice President & CFO of 17cҳ (17cҳ), presented the honor to Griffin at the school’s quarterly awards ceremony on March 28, on behalf of 17cҳ President Dr. Jonathan Gueverra who was not able to attend the event.

17cҳ to hold virtual info event on Dual Enrollment

17cҳ (17cҳ) will hold a virtual event for Monroe County high school students and their parents/ guardians to learn more about its Dual Enrollment opportunities on Wednesday, April 9 at 5:30 p.m. Through Dual Enrollment, high school students can simultaneously earn college and high school credits at no cost to the student. The program provides students with a head start on college, while potentially saving families thousands of dollars. At the virtual event, 17cҳ will discuss the benefits of taking Dual Enrollment classes, requirements to participate, and the application process.

17cҳ Tugas shine at nationals

17cҳ (17cҳ) men's and women's swim teams delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 NJCAA National Swimming and Diving Championship, held March 5-8 at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center in Buffalo, NY. Six athletes, led by Athletic Director and Coach Lori Bosco, showcased their talent and determination on the national stage. They earned five podium finishes, broke eight school records, and achieved 23 personal bests across multiple individual and relay events.

17cҳ (17cҳ) swim teams have embarked on their journey to Buffalo, NY, to compete in the prestigious National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Swimming and Diving Championship. The four-day event, scheduled for March 5-8, 2025, at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center, will showcase the Tugas' talent and dedication.
